Mission Suppert

We are just one part of Jesus' worldwide church, and some people or groups are better positioned to engage in certain areas of mission. So we develop relationships with fellow Christians, being mission partners with them for several years in the work of the Gospel. This is more than just fundraising. Instead, we support them through persistent prayer support, personal encouragement and generous giving.

We also continue to support some very specific work such as:-

  • Operation Christmas Child
  • The Salvation Army (Christmas gifts in Plymouth)
  • Tearfund's responses to international disasters

The mission work that we currently support is...

Plymouth Foodbank

Foodbanks partner with local communities to help stop UK hunger. They provide a minimum of three days’ emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK. They are also working to provide a range of new services like money advice and Fuel Banks, helping people to break the cycle of poverty.

Love into Action

Founded by Plymothians, this is a UK charity making a difference for families affected by disabilities in the Palestinian Territories. They aim to come alongside of families to befriend, encourage, train and provide support.  They currently help a number of organisations providing day care and practical activities.

St John's Orphanage, Kenya

We have personal contact with St. John's Community Centre, a Christian community service organisation in Nairobi. They provide social welfare and psychological services, and aim to move the community members living in abject poverty towards economic sustainability, social and spiritual maturity.  Our support includes child and teacher sponsorship.

Open Doors

Open Doors is an international ministry serving persecuted Christians and churches worldwide. They supply Bibles, leadership training, literacy programmes, livelihood support and advocacy services. They also seek to mobilise the church in the UK & Ireland to serve Christians living under religious persecution.

Tearfund are an organisation of Christians passionate about ending poverty.  They are following Jesus where need is greatest, working through local churches to unlock people's potential and helping them to discover that the answer to poverty is within themselves.
